Could be a part of the Coaching Search Thread, but I think it will just get lost.

Tom Herman and Justin Fuente have shown they can score points and their offenses look very competitive. We get either of these guys, and the offense is going to look great. However, neither schools defenses have looked great. So who could they bring as their DC?

Kirby Smart is a master of defense. Saban gets a lot of credit, but Kirby has been recruiting, coaching and coordinating these Saban defenses for over a decade at 3 different jobs. We get him and the defense is going to look great. Who could Kirby bring in as OC though?

Would it be worth it to roll the dice on Ed Orgeron as DC if it meant he could help recruiting and Kirby really runs the defense, or would Ed Orgeron be a good DC for Herman or Fuente? I usually think the Coordinators need to be the best X's and O's guys and the position coaches are the elite recruiters.

I think it's down to Coach "Y" for OC and Coach "Z" as DC......
