If he actually turns the program into a machine like Bama and UGA, at least four years, though if he really does that, he should be giving UGA problems by his second year. Someone I was reading the other day pointed out that winning coaches rarely take long to start doing it.
I didn't want Dan gone over the collapses this year and last. I wanted him gone because the program was a wreck and was only going to get worse. I still can't believe that guy let Todd Grantham cost him his job.
Once it became obvious that the program was completely disorganized and recruiting was in the toilet specifically due to his philosophy on recruiting, he had to go. If he'd been bringing in a top five class with organization running like a well-oiled machine, I wouldn't have wanted him fired over one bad year, but it was clear that things were going downhill fast and probably staying there for God knows how long.
Thing is, it's hard to see a scenario where the org and recruiting gets righted and starts running like a program has to today to compete and us not immediately turn around. I'm not saying we're in Atlanta in 22 or 23, but we'd almost assuredly be making whoever is having had to sweat to get there at least by 23.
