Already read it. Already told you about it. It’s a partnership. They require the pilots to fly for a regional affiliate under the Delta Connection brand, just like everyone else. Nobody at Auburn University (or anywhere else) is walking in the door at Delta Airlines wit
You must have skipped over this part:
In addition, Delta in 2018 selected Auburn as one of eight colleges to launch its Delta Propel Pilot Career Path Program, an initiative designed to help identify, select and develop the next generation of pilots. Each student selected for the program is matched with a Delta pilot as a mentor, and the students will receive a qualified job offer from Delta, detailing a defined path and an accelerated timeline to become a Delta pilot.

There are 14 schools that get the same treatment. What are you confused about? The defined path is a job at a regional airline, requiring them to build time in the same manner as everyone else. Do you think Delta is hiring exclusively from that pool of pilots?
