So, only vaccinated people can go to the hospital? I thought that was what the vaccine was meant to prevent.

Sorry, you didn’t get the flu vaccine, we can’t admit you.

Oh no, you don’t have the MMR shot, well you go to go.

Didn’t get the polio vaccine, well there’s the door.

Literally every one of those viruses have been mitigated because of... a vaccine.

Again, I couldn't care less if you get it or not.(COVID or the vaccine) But if you think it's a hoax or you wanna let your immune system handle it, then keep that same energy the whole time and stop overwhelming healthcare workers cause you're a fake tough guy.

Dude, please STOP. If you haven't been reading I AM one of those heathcare workers and find your take pretty damned disgusting.

From the start, the misinformation about this illness that's been spread by virtually everyone has created a situation where people can very reasonably not trust the institutions we normally rely on. Lest you forget, one year ago both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were saying you couldn't trust a vaccine developed by the Trump administration. Biden said it would probably be dangerous to take.

Fauci's said it wasn't airborne, you didn't need masks, kids don't need masks, you can take your masks off, you need to double mask, the vaccine is all you need, you won't need boosters, you're going to need boosters. His 'advice' changes faster than Alabama springtime weather.

Trump said it's just the flu.

Everyone said "shut down 2 weeks to stop the curve."

The CDC said it came from bats, no way it escaped from a lab. Now, guess what, now even they say it may have escaped a lab.

I can go on a long time with examples. Here in Alabama we had doctors going on TV crying about how bad it was when it wasn't bad at all, so now nobody believes them when it's actually gotten bad.

Now throw in that everyone's on social media which is nothing more than a cesspool of bad takes and intentionally spread misinformation.

The shock would be if there WEREN'T large numbers of people with a huge level of distrust - and when we don't trust something, we default to a position of not fixing what's not broken. It's a totally understandable reaction. If I wasn't in the job I have, I'd very likely be one of them because I'm distrusting by nature.

So instead of calling names (and you're acting like the same internet tough guy you just accused them of being) and outright telling them to just go home and die, how about taking the position that as I said earlier it's OK to have concerns about a vax but make sure you're making a true informed decision before deciding to not get it because covid's really bad out there now.

As another poster said, your logic leads down a pretty bad path. We responded to an accident last week where 2 guys went through the windshield of their delivery truck. I guess we should have left them lying in the yard because they weren't wearing their seat belts?

I think you missed point. You are suggesting that hospitals turn away anyone that hasn’t had the vaccine. I am well aware that those diseases were eradicated, but through proven vaccines. Hospitals didn’t turn away unvaccinated patients.

If you want to say get the vaccine or don’t, it doesn’t matter to me. I agree with it. But to suggest that hospitals should turn people away is idiotic. They would not be following the Hippocratic Oath to deny somebody treatment. That was my point.

I can’t understand why people can’t just say, “Get the vaccine or don't. Wear a mask or don’t.” Everyone knows the risk. It is a personal choice. People shouldn’t be made to feel bad because they do or don’t. Instead, how about we just all get along.
