He wrote about it in his book. He was right. LSU should’ve hired him. In retrospect, though, LSU would’ve never gotten Saban because Spurrier would’ve had a ton of success in Baton Rouge.

I loathed Spurrier 20 years ago but the dude was spot on, we should have never sucked arse in the 90s like we did.

Spurrier would have been sick at LSU no doubt.

I love how he fricked with us in the 90s, that is college football rivalry shite to a T.

He wouldn't have stayed at LSU that long. Arnsparger was our AD after leaving LSU and it was only a matter of time before he came home.

And neither would have Alabama.

I've accepted the established concensus that we are witnessing the greatest college football coach today in his prime, but in 1999, If Saban doesn't step in the corporate jet to fly from Lansing to Baton Rouge, we are having none of these conversations.
