this is a very timely post . My son and I are going to pick one SEC game to come down to see from Ohio . We want the best pre game tailgaiting etc atmosphere .. I told him about The Grove and how cool it was portrayed on the SEC network ...I ve told him about night games at LSU ... And also the worlds largest outdoor cocktail party fla/ga ... so
someone give me the best to go to ...its a one time shot...dont really care who is playing ..more care about the pre game stuff

Tailgating is lit at pretty much all the top schools, regardless of what the homers say - so long as it isn't freezing or their opponent isn't a cupcake.

So just pick a LSU/Bama, AU/UGA, FL/UGA, etc.

This pretty much nails it. The atmosphere and experience at any of the big programs is incredible for big games. They all have their own unique things, but overall they're all great.

True, but frick those terrorist assholes that attacked us on 9/11.

Tailgating prior to 9/11
…RV’s literally packed the student sidewalks and concourses. Couldn’t walk to class on Thursday or Friday without a free food or beer offer from some alumni.

Then came the restrictive parking bollards, locked campus restrooms and paid reserved tailgating etc.
