Do teams in SEC sign away there tv rights and other similar stuff to the league? Or have some kind of buyout to leave?
If not i can easily see Texas threatening to pull out or drop rumors of looking elsewhere after 2 or 3 years unless they get their way on certain issues. It may be more likely if A&M leaves as without Texas the SEC would then no longer be in the state of Texas, so be careful what you wish for with Aggies.
They may play it more like Saban when he always used to be linked to openings including Texas to use as part of renegotiation tactics versus out right threats to leave. They and Ok can rotate around and be ok with money especially Texas.
But again this threat depends on how hard it is to get out of SEC. They can still cause issues other ways including creating division which will be easier with bigger conference and possibly more schools being added. They are not joining like A&M and other recent schools. They have money, clout, media attention, and a back door way of doing things that is going to have some schools taking sides with them. They will definitely play on other schools mistrust of Alabama.
Regardless of current SEC schools ability to break away I still think Texas should have to have buyout and sign rights away for a set time just because of all their crap in past.
