Prior to Corbin arriving, Vanderbilt had been to the postseason 3 times total, most recently in 1980. Corbin joined in 2003. By 2007 he had the Commodores ranked #1 for the majority of the year, won the SEC, won the SECt (against us in the finals), and had #1 national seed before losing in their regional to Michigan. Corbin took Vanderbilt from a middling program to a nationally relevant in 4 years, and this was 1 year BEFORE the rules changed.

Corbin is a top notch coach, maybe the best there is with Augie gone, but he didn't get over the hump until the rules changed in his favor.

What could Corbin do with the overall facilities and fan support that Arkansas enjoys? There are advantages and disadvantages of every school. It's all about relative magnitude which I'll get to next.

These are things that we assume kids like, but what we know kids and especially parents like is money. In football, the facilities and fan support mean much more. In baseball, due to the scholarship situation, money means all. If things are close between say MS State and Kentucky for a recruit as far as money goes, then yes, I imagine the recruit chooses the superior facilities, but if Kentucky is offering enough extra money to make a difference, then most of the time, that'd be the scale tipper.

Also note that all of the above assumes that any baseball player can meet the academic requirements for OV,

My understanding is that anyone that gets into Vandy automatically qualifies for this and I highly doubt that all athletes are qualifying for Vandy's regular academic standards... much like ND, Stanford (who I believe has a nearly identical program) and Duke, athletes are given much more leeway. Lastly, while athletes are notoriously stupid at times, anyone that has a scholarship offer from Vandy, Duke, Rice, Tulane, etc., should take those offers over just about every other school, including Arkansas, as that degree will be worth much more post playing career.

All in all, I agree that Corbin is right there among the best.
