I’ll have to agree with you on some things. Bo did look like he made some improvements, and that’s great to see after only 14-15 practices. Just looked like he was making better decisions with the ball and most of the time he was putting the ball where it needed to be. He still left some to be desired on the long ball and a few of the “easier” throws. He showed really good athleticism still which will help the team out, I just wish he would use the athleticism to step up into the pocket.
The OL looked better and also still the same. They looked a little stronger and more powerful to me, but they still struggle with speed rushers (I get why Bo doesn’t trust them).
The WRs and TEs have talent, BUT, a lot of them are young and very inexperienced. Too many drops and not a lot of separation. Does it get better when Capers, Jackson, and Evans get back? Maybe a little?
Defense still looks good. Some issues on DL, but that was kinda expected. Does that get better if Jaren Handy and Jay Hardy come back in good standing? Pegues looked like he has some skills and Romello Height had good speed off the edge. DBs looked good and will get even better when the transfer from WVU gets here.
To sum it all up, the offense is still obviously a work in progress, which is to be expected, but the base offense looks more complex. The defense looks good, but a little soft on the DL. I think the transfer rule might able to help us out, we definitely have a spot to sell on the OL and if there are any proven or somewhat proven WRs then we have a spot to sell there.
