Add all the math you like. Throw a few computers in there for good measure, it still got us Alabama vs LSU in the 2012 Natty rematch. I don't have a problem with the BCS getting the 2 best teams correct. The BCS was still subjective enough to give us Alabama as one of the 2 best teams that year. It was the rest of college football that had had enough, so on to the 4 team playoff. Would have been fine with me if the BCS formula picked the top 4 in these new playoffs by the way. Would be fine with me if the BCS formula picked the best 8 teams.

All that to say, humans cannot be totally objective, even with the application of math. Meaning, you can't have a thought without a corresponding emotion to go with it. It's just the way the human brain operates. And with emotion comes, bias, prejudice, jealousy, ambition, envy. All the little ole things in our world that have us living in the social, political, religious mess we have never risen above.
