ETA: The NCMFC was founded by Mike Locksley, who is on the Board of Directors along with Ozzie Newsome, Bill Polian, Nick Saban, Mike Tomlin, and Doug Williams (among others).

Willie Jeffries made history in 1979 when he became the first African American head football coach in Division I football at Wichita State. His 29-year collegiate head-coaching career included six Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championships, two national titles, several post season appearances, and numerous coaching awards. He retired in 2001 at South Carolina State.
