- This will be the third meeting between Arkansas and Southern and the Razorbacks won the previous two meetings.
- The first meeting was a 76-75 thriller in Pine Bluff. Down one point, Razorback Andrew Lang made two free throws with 10 seconds left to take the lead, then blocked a shot with three seconds left to preserve the win. Lang scored 21 and the Razorbacks shot 64.9% from he field (24-of-37) but were just 28-of-45 from the free throw line. Southern shot 57.4% but was just 5-of-12 at the charity stripe.

- Moses Kingsley’s career night propelled Arkansas to an 86-68, season-opening victory over Southern.
- Kingsley scored a career-high 22 points on a perfect 8-for-8 mark from the field and he tied career highs with 12 rebounds, five blocks and three steals.
- The Jaguars made a run halfway through the second frame to get within 67-59 just before the six-minute mark, but then Kingsley took over. The forward rattled off back-to-back dunks that propelled the Razorbacks to a 15-2 run over the next four minutes and they never looked back, eventually picking up an 18-point win.
- Three other Arkansas players – Dusty Hannahs (21), Anthlon Bell (14) and Jimmy Whitt Jr. (12) – also reached double-figures for the hosts.
- Hannahs jump-started the Razorbacks in the first half, scoring 13 points in 16 minutes. Whitt, meanwhile, was held scoreless in the opening frame, but responded
with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting in the second half.
