College football is widely considered the #2 sport in America, a distant second only to the NFL.
I do think some shows like “The Herd” should include more CFB coverage, but, I get why it doesn’t go some degree.
The issue with college football on a macro-level, is that it’s almost like UFC in the fact there are maybe 3-4 challengers for the crown, and everyone else is just a pawn in the game.
Half of Alabama and Clemson’s games are unwatchable blood baths. In the NFL, unless you’re the Jets (yikes), there’s a pretty decent shot at an upset. The talent parody isn’t nearly as wide.
The ratings for UGA-Bama outta be huge! As I mentioned before, that was “title fight,” worthy. But I hardly expect national coverage on weekly shows like “The Herd” to address CFB on a Wednesday, unless there’s a big game like last week coming up.
I know people here love to talk about the Tennessee game, but on a national level, TSIO is about as relevant or interesting a topic as Space Jam 2 leaks, likely less.
I think for us big CFB fans, we’ve got plenty of veins to draw from for content. Won’t worry about a lack of coverage, or perceived slight.
We’ve got a nice cozy, content filled spot as the nation’s #2 sport. In a time with so much to distract us, that isn’t that bad.
