The Waltons themselves haven't given a lot to athletics, but many Walmart "money families" have given plenty.

I think people might be confusing this as the Waltons but there are a group of donors/families up here who made a good chunk of their money from Wal-Mart investments. Both Willard Walker and Charlie Baum (Baum-Walker Stadium) worked together for Walmart founder Sam Walton in the early days of the company. We are blessed to have so have so many great donors up here in NWA. You'd be hard pressed to find a state as poor as ours whose campus and athletic facilities are as great as ours despite never using student fees or taxes. With that being said - I'd rather have stadiums named after coaches and/or historic players but I understand the reasoning behind naming it after donors.
