There’s a whole big college football world outside of Alabama and South Florida. A lot of smaller programs whose alums are not fans of other teams will never feel the same connection that they do now.

I promise you there are a lot of North Texas students/alums that are more passionate about Texas or Texas A&M than they are about the Mean Green.

Same goes for ULL and ULM fans and LSU.

Again, there is NO WAY college football will die or even be dramatically hurt if FAU, FIU, USA, UNT and other similar schools lose their programs.

That doesn't mean I want those schools to lose their programs and do agree that some fans will be greatly impacted. I live in West Palm Beach and know probably 15-20 kids or the parents of kids that attend either FAU or FIU. I would guesstimate approximately 90% of those kids/families would never miss a Gator, Seminole or to a lesser extent Cane game to watch or attend an Owl or Panther game.

We need one or 2 of those games each year. Backups can get playing time and it's an easy game to take kids to instead of an intense SEC game.

Just like the vast majority of UAB students cheer for either Alabama or Auburn.
