So what's your stipend amount? $100 a week? $1,000? Suddenly, they are employees with Medicare and SS taxes and such. Careful, you might run afoul of labor laws and all that. And what happens when Trevor Lawrence decide that he's worth more than $X per week and demands more? And holds out? Then Judy one the women's basketball team decides she should get a stipend too under Title IX. Doesn't matter that the women's team is a financial drain. That's a real damn slippery slope you are standing on, sir, that ends with the destruction of college sports.

Have you ever heard the saying, "don't delay progress waiting for perfection"?

The Athl Depts figured out a way to pay OLine coaches $1.2 Million when they made $150K just 10 years ago, they figured out a way to pay HCs $9million per yr when they made $3 million just 10 years ago

Let them figure it out they can figure out a way to take advantage of the Revenue Athletes, they can figure out a way to give them larger stipends, stipends won't make them employees BTW

If $9MM dollar HC salaries hasn't destroyed college Sports then nothing will
