There's an alternative path where viewership walks away from big time college sports because it has become too politicized and commercialized and is in all honesty a free minor league for the NFL and NBA. As viewership wanes, so does sponsorships and the huge economics of college sports starts walking back the other way as it adjusts to the new norm. In turn, coaches salaries begin to shrink to reflect the new economics and a point is reached where more balance with academics and amateurism is restored and interest stabilizes at a lower level. The G League becomes a more viable minor basketball league and the NFL will have to either create one or learn to develop college players over a longer period as they used to. Free agency and plug and play will have to shrink and adjust.

Yeah, maybe it's a pipe dream, but it's a helluva lot better than your alternative where the players demand more than they agreed to up front: an opportunity for an education and the possibility of continuing to play at a higher level.

The NCAA artificially caps the players market value, and doesn't say a damn thing about everyone else associated with P5 College Sports maximizing their value in the FREE MARKET..... and this doesn't bother you at all?

The reason they demand more than they signed on for is that the NCAA artificially caps their Market Value , so one group gets capped and everyone else is uncapped and gets to enjoy the Free Market

People keep talking about the higher level, that higher level is immaterial to the money generated by P5 College Sports, please stop clouding the debate by mentioning "the higher level"

Tell you what - I am in favor of PURE AMATEURISM, and I will agree that the players don't deserve to get paid larger stipends under ONE CONDITION:

Every intercollegiate sport at the P5 level generate their own money such that each sport operates at break even financially

Will you agree to that?

I'll answer- hell frick no you won't agree to that

That's the problem with P5 College Sports and that is why my solution is pay the Revenue Athletes larger Stipends, if 2 sports are gonna to pay the freight for every other Sport on Campus, then they deserve something extra, as in money as in Stipends

How unfair is it to require that Revenue Athletes pay for every other Athlete's existence at that College and then say, " no you don't deserve a larger Stipend" --- you have to be a unique level of a-hole to not understand why the current system is unfair to FB & MBB players
