the NCAA is a scam but it's a voluntary member organization which means it's paid for by the big money schools in college sports. It's a scam that exists because of, and for the convenience of, Kansas, Duke, NC, etc. (and Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU, etc.)
Which is why not much is going to happen to Duke, but Missouri is probably looking at another post season ban (fortunately we've figured out a way around that by just never becoming eligible)
