Hell, I wish I had LSU’s good fortune in winning the lottery. Can’t fault them for the NC being in NOLA. If this was the pre-BCS era, the best team in the SEC was Sugar Bowl bound. So, look at it this way; LSU with a much harder road and still got to play in NO.
This is no different than Miami having the Orange Bowl advantage in the 80s and early 90s. 4 of their 5 titles were won when winning the Orange Bowl.
USC’s 1967, 1972, 1974, 1978, 2003 titles were won by having to win the Rose Bowl.
LSU’s 2003, 2007, 2011, 2019 championship caliber years go through NO, and this is through a more complex system such as the BCS and CFP where New Orleans is never a guarantee. They just happen to be fortunate. Can’t fault LSU.
