Riley is an air raid dude. Always has been. People argue over if the "veer and shoot" is a variation of the air raid. I personally would say yes. Briles coached under leach and just so happens to use heavily the four verts concept and wide splits(just with WRs) but like many other guys who came up under Leach they want more power running. Riley Dana Briles all go about this differently IMO. I'm pretty sure Dana was the guy who was first using the diamond formation back at okie state

I think that's what throws people off. You can watch Leach and then one of his many disciples and all the offenses look different enough they don't even seem the same at their core. Hell Leach doesn't even run the first variation of the offense despite being the guy who popularized it.

It's not like watching navy air force or army play.
