I don't disagree with anything you said but do you offer a solution to the 'problem?'

Do you not think that a playoff was needed? Some type of playoff was definitely needed, IMO. I think the only debate to be had is the # of teams. Personally, while I'd like to see more teams in the fold, I don't think the playoff should be extended from 2 games, so 4 teams is the only mathematically possible number that works. After a grueling season, it's not realistic to expect these guys to have to play 4 playoff games to win it all.
