You can’t say things like “Commifornia” to kids who are 16 and 17 years old. They don’t know the world yet. Their parents are maybe responsible for the economic disparity out there. Is California in a downward spiral of socioeconomic status where there’s just haves and have nots? Yeah probably. But it’s still the most populous state by a large margin. The problem is the soccer mom mentality out there that football is too dangerous and the kids in high school out there who love the game don’t want to hear about it. I don’t blame them. Go to the Southeast and the Midwest, where football is like religion on Saturdays. I have no problem with that. But the lefties out there need to soften their stance on football’s dangers because there are a lot of sports where kids will get concussions for crying out loud.

Just moved to a St. Louis suburb from San Diego earlier this year... had been out there since '91.
Soccer has 5x the presence of football in CA youth sports... baseball and softball are well ahead of football as well.
I don't necessarily disagree with the increased presence of soccer, but do agree it has just as much risk of concussions as football at the higher levels.
