It will probably be for 50 people. Needs to be pretty formal and can’t exceed $4,000. Would like to be in $2,500 range but I dont know if that’s possible with alcohol for that many people.

This may sound cheap but not everyone is loaded and there are budgets that need to be adhered to. At my rehearsal, we did a 30 min cocktail session then switched to beer and wine at dinner only. This saves money as well as doesn’t allow anyone to get too wasted.
I know this isn’t a suggestion but just some small thinking points to save some money.

$2500 will be a little low for a formal place and 50 guests including food and drinks. All of the nicer restaurants in town will have multiple tiers for private dining options and most should be able to accommodate 50. Where I worked, our food options started at $29 (soup/salad, entree, dessert) and went up from there.
We offered a $50 option, at the time, that included food and 2 drinks per person. An option like that would run you $2500 before tax and grat, $3250 after. You could probably offer a cocktail half-hour with the $750 if you wanted, but that would mean going all the way up to the $4k max.
