well we're playing LSU, which means they'll be in white. And unless kirby has completely lost his marbles, we'll be in red.

I'm pretty sure the "away" team has a say as to wearing white. I think Utah St. wore white in Baton Rouge this year because they didn't want to wear colors

the away team doesn't pick shite. And LSU has certain guidelines on when they wear purple (as the home team), it was known way ahead of the Utah State game that would be one
quote:
LSU will be wearing purple uniforms again when the No. 4 Tigers (3-0) play at Vanderbilt (0-2) Saturday at 11 a.m. because the Commodores are wearing an alternate uniform.
The football team will wear the purple uniforms once more against Utah State before shelving them for the rest of the season.
We are the away team this year so LSU gets to pick, and they will 100% undoubtedly pick white.

9. What are the rules about jersey colors for opposing teams?
By rule the visiting team must wear white jerseys. This means white, which does not
include light gray, pale yellow, etc. The home team may wear white, but only if they get
written agreement with the visiting team before the season starts (Rule 1-4-5-b).
Wrong.
Straight from the NCAA Rulebook
However it will be a neutral site game, so I'm not saying we are going to wear white

I stand corrected, I just assumed that home teams that wear white (lsu, used to be gatech, etc) did what they wanted. My bad. At any rate I imagine it's pretty rare for the other team to deny the request.

Especially when they're getting paid

LSU mostly wears purple in their non conference home games, besides their opener.

Well they didn't know they would be playing us "before the seasons starts", so there must be more to it for post regular season games.

Surely there is something more to the postseason games, but I am not knowledgeable in that department. BTW it has already been announced we are wearing red jerseys for the game

Which NFL team always wears their "whites" at home?
I remember Belichick had the Patriots wear their away uniforms just to make that team (I can't remember who though) wear the combo they aren't normally accustomed to wearing.

Within the linked article:
So it appears that the SEC does give the home team the choice.
quote:
The SEC later adopted a league rule stipulating that the home team has sole discretion in determining its jersey color.

Well that's taken out of context a little. That sentence referred to the fact a home team, like LSU for example, can wear either purple colors or gold colors as a home team. The NCAA rule is a thing, I guess in this case for regular season games only

I am not arguing the point, just trying to research. From an LSU poster in another thread, the SEC home team gets to choose color including white, so long as it is an SEC opponent. Non SEC opponents would need to give permission per the NCAA rule. I could find no official SEC rule stating this though.
quote:Sanford Lyle LSU
The official NCAA rule says home team must get permission from visiting team to wear white at home. (this is the Dinardo rule that he helped pass in 1995). The SEC later adopted the rule that says the home team decides which jersey color to wear and doesn't need permission. (for SEC games). When Saban arrived he started tradition of wearing purple for 2 non conference home games a year, excluding home opener, so that players could wear a different jersey (usually against cream puff teams but occasionally when BCS non conference team denied our request to wear white, see Oregon State). Miles has pretty much continued that tradition.
To summarize, LSU doesn't need permission to wear white at home against SEC teams but we do against non conference teams.

I can't imagine LSU in anything other than white.
