2. automatic bid the next 2 highest rated teams that are not conference champions.
3. one " at large" pick by committee.
Set the bracket up based on final season rankings highest ranked plays lowest ranked , etc.
If your conference can't make it with an 8 team playoff, then maybe there is a good reason for it.
AQ status is bullshite.

With 5 Power Conferences someone has to be left out even if al 5 of the winners go undefeated or have the same record.
