Delpit missed more tackles due to technic. You can't take down everyone by just hitting them hard, you have to wrap up.

Yes but did you notice what his technique was?

It was throwing his body into the runner instead of planting his feet and driving through the tackle. He was protecting his injury.

Go back and watch. He was just throwing himself at the runner. He obviously couldn't push off and didn't want to risk planting his cleats in the grass and getting turned or rolled up on.

When you have a hip or leg injury it would make sense to just throw your body weight at somebody to try to slow them down and hope that your help can catch up. Normally you drive through a tackle with your lower body and your spikes in the grass because that's where your power is going to be generated from but that also puts a lot of pressure on all your lower body joints.

He was definitely protecting his injury with the way he was 'tackling'.
