Most of the examples given of him playing fast and loose in big games happened well into the contest. Sure, he takes a gamble every now and again and I think he's the GOAT, but the earlier in the game it is, the more we run base stuff on both sides of the ball, to keep it conservative, famlliar, and to see how the other team responds to things and mostly importantly, not to make a big mistake. He will probe for weakness and tendency and later in the game try to exploit it, but the probing is usually very safe and conservative.
