My biggest issue is not the money but the fact that every blue chip will have an agent now and a team of attorneys representing him before he's out of high school. It's going to be a shite show. You think 5 stars act entitled now, just wait until they're represented by a Johnny Cochoran type of guy.
And recruiting will be determined by how good of a deal the school can setup with Nike or Adidas or UA. And it could be that Nike (for instance) will be paying more overall than the others, thus screwing over non-Nike schools.
The whole point of this law is to make lawyers money. The law is written by lawyers for lawyers.

You don't have to offer him a scholarship.
