Just wondering here.
But isn’t this how it is everywhere?
Any game I’ve been to, I’ve bad to dig around in my pockets to show the usher my ticket/phone
Pro stadiums I guess ... for pro games.
Not college games.
It wasn't that way in Tampa or Orlando or Shreveport for Bowl games.
So in Charlotte you had to have a ticket to get into the stadium of course, then one to go up the escalator. Same ticket to get into your level and then to get into your section.
So here was the problem some had and I understand why this was a problem.
You go through the first three stages, gates, escalator and then big doors to get into your level .... fans thought they were in.
You show your ticket getting to your seats then you drop your ticket .... a lot of people did. Then they get up to go to the bathroom or concessions or whatever and you try getting back to your seat, no-go. And it caused a major backup at all sections with a lot of pissed off fans stuck in limbo in the concourse now forced to watch the rest of the game from the concessions TVs and unable to get back to family or friends in the stands.
Cell service sucked donkey balls.
This was after getting in late because of 2 hours standing in line outside to get in.
Total shite show.

Ah gotcha
For the Final four elite 8 and Sweet 16 they did it too
And I remember when I was a student (and after when I came back) if I tried to get in without a student ticket, they sent me back
I’ve just always kept my ticket or phone (if electronic ticket) on me at all times and would always show the ushers because they asked for it.
Just went to a Mets game and they did it
Must be a pro thing, but sorry I don’t see any issue
Guess at this point it’s just engraved in my head to hold onto it
