I watch probably 140 Braves games a year which is probably the only reason I don't watch more games of other teams. Usually I'm so burned out by the time the Braves are done that I don't have the desire to watch other teams in the playoffs. I rarely watch the World Series, not because my interest in baseball is declining but because I put in so much time and effort with the Braves that I can't do anymore. Yes, I am one data point, but I'd imagine that there are many like that, so comparing national ratings between different sports is a useless exercise.

I mostly agree with you. If you are a fan of one team (I'm with you as well), it is a lot to watch more than just your squad. However, because of the slow play, ease on the body type of game baseball is, 100+ games is manageable. I've burned more calories walking a dog than a Dodgers outfielder when Kershaw is on. But, it's virtually impossible in other sports to do that, so cest la vi. Most other sporting leagues have fans that watch other games, which I think is good for the game. I think it's what makes college football so popular - as a top tier team, you may play 4 times in a 365 day span, where the game matters. However, you spend the rest of Saturdays, watching other teams. Same with the NFL. The NFL redzone channel is ungodly popular. I rather enjoy when the Falcons are on a bye/play on Sunday or Thursday, because from 1-7... it's pure eye candy.

MLS attendance is down this year. So is MLB. I think there are a lot of factors, as almost all leagues are having problems compared to other years at the gate. Considering attendance is an increasingly small piece of the revenue pie, I wouldn't look at it too much when projecting success. I think media engagement is what companies are paying a premium for, so, live TV and other streaming/content support is what is going to continue to make dollas for teams.

From an Atlanta sports fan perspective, we've got it about as good as anyone. The Falcons have the capability to go to a Super Bowl, the Braves are likely going to the NLCS, Atlanta United is winning trophies, and the Hawks have one of, if not the best young cores in the league. All play in new venues. I wonder how dumb Atlanta Spirit feels for selling the Thrashers. Cucks.

I like what Ressler is doing with the Hawks as owner. Hired some good basketball people and appears to be letting them do their jobs. I wonder if he has any interest (or funds for that matter) to bring hockey back again.

FYI, you just ruined this thread now by making this statement. Prepare for Taints fans to come in with pictures of gronw men wearing jewelry.
