Alabama held its second scrimmage of the preseason Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. It was 95 degrees under clear blue skies in Tuscaloosa.

Here are some observations from the limited access period provided to the media:

— Freshman Evan Neal was spotted with the first team at left guard while Chris Owens was at center and Emil Ekyor was positioned at right guard. It’s worth noting Matt Womack has been limited recently with an undisclosed injury.

— The second offensive line group included Amari Kight at left tackle, Deonte Brown at left guard, Landon Dickerson at center, Kendall Randolph at right guard and Tommy Brown at right tackle.

— Inside linebacker Christian Harris appeared to be working with the first team in a nickel package. He was paired with Dylan Moses.

— Interior defensive lineman DJ Dale (sprained knee) was in full pads. So too was LaBryan Ray (ankle), who returned this week to practice.

— Before practice, running back Trey Sanders wheeled himself into the stadium on a knee scooter. He had a cast over his left foot, which he hurt severely earlier this month.

— Freshman offensive lineman Pierce Quick was back on the field after he was spotted in a walking boot earlier this week because of a lower leg injury.
