lol, for frick's sake. if by sterile/bland you mean incredible pregame atmosphere, better attendance, and away from the cultured area around Turner Field, then yeah....sterile and bland. Nothing screams Atlanta than walking under the I-85/75 bridge while being serenaded by a homeless dude playing a stolen set of drums.

I live and work ITP and love going to the new stadium.

Haha, I enjoyed that.

I never said Turner Field was the answer - but what they ended up doing at the Battery was what was promised over at the Ted.

FWIW, my Ideal spot would have been where the gulch is now, West Midtown, or the beltline.

When you go to a Cubs, Sox, or Yankees game, you just get so much more of a classic city and culture vibe.

Stepping off the Addison stop into Wrigleyville is one of the coolest things in sports. It's totally unique, fun, and true to the city of Chicago. It's what made Cubs games so fun, even when they were awful.

The Battery as a concept is great - the location and execution will be remembered in the same way most suburban projects are: inauthentic and unimaginative. Yardhouse? PBR? Wahlburgers? C'mon, man... that's a strip mall.

so you are upset that the Braves didn't build a stadium 100 years ago and let a neighborhood grow up around it?
