It’s kind of crazy how bad they’ve been, but honestly, culture matters. I just don’t think the entitlement in that program breeds anything other than laziness. Is tu capable of doing what Clemson has done? Of course. They have the resources. But Clemson under Dabo was desperate. They went Ole Miss-like in recruiting and had a young head coach that was desperate to prove that they belonged. Tom Herman’s arrogance makes me feel like they already believe they are at the mountain top and that will ultimately lead to their continued failure.

Herman is the reason why Texas may finally capitalize on their inherent advantages. Texas has never had a HC willing to "play the game" in recruiting. Herman was mentored by Urban and certainly doesn't give off the vibe he's afraid to test the limits of what he knows it takes to compete at an elite level.

If Herman can't get Texas among the elite and play for/win multiple NC's, I don't see it happening under the current rules.
