Check out The Drifter on Tulane Avenue in NOLA. There is definitely a resurgence in motels. Palm Springs comes to mind.

Refurbing these hotels is definitely a trend. Funnily enough, I went to the El Rey in Santa Fe yesterday afternoon for happy hour. It’s an example of this and gets a lot of buzz from the LA hipster crowd.
There’s one in Eureka Springs, Arkansas called the Wanderoo Lodgd.
