Giles Amos received some good news Tuesday evening. Amos, a walk-on tight end at Alabama, was awarded a scholarship, according to junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's Instagram story, which read, “Congrats to my guy on getting a scholarship!”

“We have some guys -- we have Major Tennison, we have Miller Forristall, we have Giles Amos,” said Tagovailoa earlier in preseason camp. “I know not too many of you guys know who these guys are, but I think they're gonna be a big asset to us this upcoming year.”

A senior, Amos is a native of Perry, Ga., and a product of Westfield (Ga.) High School and stands at 6-foot-4, 245 pounds. As a walk-on in 2018, he made his first career appearance against Louisiana and saw time against The Citadel. During the Crimson Tide's spring game in April, Amos caught one pass for four yards.
