I could be wrong, but I think Bama would gladly take McKinnley Jackson's commitment this early.

Get to know Drake Maye, Alabama’s QB of the future (al.com)
quote:

Future Alabama quarterback Drake Maye isn’t shy about his goal for the 2019 season. “Win the state championship,” he said. “That’s all I care about. Just winning.”

Maye, a junior at Myers Park (N.C.), High threw for more than 3,200 yards and 36 touchdowns last season as Myers Park (N.C.) advanced to the North Carolina high school semifinals.

Now standing 6-foot-5 and weighing more than 200 pounds, Maye is considered one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects in the Class of 2021. A 4-star prospect, he’s currently ranked No. 90 nationally and No. 7 among pro-style quarterbacks, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Maye committed to Alabama last month and immediately became the centerpiece of Alabama’s 2021 class. “It’s hard to turn down when Coach Saban wants you to be his quarterback,” Maye said.

Alabama has 22 players for in its current Class of 2020 list of commitments, but no quarterback. Locking down Maye so early before 2021 signing day means the Tide has its quarterback of the future after signing Alabama legacies Taulia Tagovailoa and Paul Tyson last year.
