You wanna be tested but not back to back to back. Then throw in the stupidity of scheduling a triple option team for our cream puff and it’s just a recipe for disaster.
I think it’s one of many reasons Saban wants to go to 9 conference games. That would almost certainly require a shuffling of the schedule order and may provide us a little relief.

The Citadel wasn't an option team when they were scheduled I don't think. Bottom line though is that they play in the ACC which isn't very tough even when FSU doesn't suck and we play in the SEC which is very tough even when the east is down. It is what it is and we can't change those facts. We can change how and when we play key reserves early so that they are ready to contribute in December and January. We can change the way we attack a defense after we see how they are scheming us early. We can change how we affect the quarterback when it's obvious that three/four guys aren't doing it alone.
