Very spot on assessment. 
The missed FG was the beginning of my anxiety

The fake field goal is one if not the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a football game. However, after having a few days to mourn
and look back at things objectively I reached a conclusion.
One of the big critiques of Smart during the Natty game is that he and Chaney played not to lose. I'm not sure how much if any of the criticism influenced his decision on the punt fake. But it was an aggressive move to try to win the game. You live and you die by your decisions and this one killed us. I keep telling myself he is 42 years old he is going to make mistakes. I keep telling myself we were lucky to be in the game to begin with because we were so young and replacing some really big guns off of last year's team. I guess hope springs eternal.
