Interesting theory.

I note that TAMU went 10-1 vs Texas from 1984 to 1994, and was on probation twice during that period.

The rest of your history you're 26-68-4 against them, so I'm not sure how that translates to "beating texas too much"

I won't say that all of them are directly tied to success on the field, or specifically vs texas. Just the ones since the series has been competitive (A&M admits women, drops mandatory enrollment, ncaa scholarship limits)

texas dominated the series from the time WWII started until Vietnam ended. We had been left behind due to university decisions and an unwillingness to keep up with a shift in american culture.

Outside of this span, the series goes from 76-37, to 45-34.

1957, 1977, and 1991 were infractions with Men's basketball. I've included the relevant football results anyway, because despite what sport was sanctioned, I maintain that football was a primary motivating factor of the burnt orange conspiracy.

Texas A&M Major Infractions: 7

1957

*1963-1964*
Texas A&M drops mandatory corps enrollment and admits women.

1966
Last 5 vs texas: 0-5
Last 5 overall record: 13-35

*1967* Gene Stallings wins the SWC and Cotton Bowl

1969
Last 5 vs texas: 1-4
Last 5 overall record: 18-30
*lone win was one of 3 in a 34 year span. The worst stretch in the rivalry, perfectly aligning A&M's worst era and texas' best during the same stretch.

*1973* NCAA introduces scholarship limits

1977
Last 5 vs texas: 2-3
Last 5 overall record: 41-17
*2 wins over texas in a row for the first time since 1910
*2 wins out of 5 years for the first time since 1939

1988
Last 5 vs texas: 5-0
Last 5 overall record: 42-17

1991
Last 5 vs texas: 4-1
last 5 overall: 46-16

1994
Last 5 vs texas: 4-1
Last 5 overall record: 51-8
