He is also set to retire after this season, his 38th season at Cabot. What changes will we see at Cabot when he leaves? Will we finally see a change from the old dead t offense? The man is a hell of a coach, and he had a good run, but I hope this season is the last of the dead t that we see.

I recommend they hire John Shannon who is a a Malham disciple fro Beebe as his replacement.

Well I can see the benefit of running a system that no one else in the state uses. The opposing coaches have probably seen it from time to time, but their players only see it once a year and it can be a difficult offense to defend.

That having been said... it can be a very unforgiving offense to run. If you get behind schedule then you are in a world of trouble. With a pro or spread based attack you at least have a decent shot at converting third and long. With a triple option or Wing T attack third and long is a very daunting prospect.

Very few high school kids want to play in that offense either. They see flash on tv all weekend and that’s what they want to play in. Cabot benefits from having some success and malham running it for as long as they have. People in Beebe have hated it ever since they hired Malhams right hand man.
