I'm not sure if we've had this discussion or not but I remember some pretty wild alma mater threads on CT years ago and it ought to liven up this board: Should non-alumni/students toast on "Here's a health"?

Personally I don't care what other people do and think that it at least looks better to have everyone do it, I also don't see a reason to cause division between fans over something so trivial.

Ok, go.

This.

Also if you don't let non-alumni/students toast then the result is the head coach can't do it and that would look silly

I don't care if they do it, either, but one of my memories from one of our home games was having some non-alumni fans sitting behind us attempting to sing the Alma Mater rather loudly. When it came to "here's a health, Carolina" the dumbasses sang "here's a hand, Carolina" and instead of toasting, it looked more like they were attempting to do the FSU chop. Yes, I laughed very loudly at them. I couldn't help it.
