Not all trees get to die by bonfires, some die by poison and then give their organs to local smaller bonfires, but more people get to enjoy it in a safe environment that way I guess.

I would guess some of the wood ended up in people's keepsakes for history purposes.

The new ones are doing well though so there is much to be thankful for on the plains.
