Eh, Jalen had lost all ability to read a defense and throw by the end of last season (and he never had a giant ability to do that as it was).

We had guys running free wide open for large chunks of the season on 2nd/3rd options that the QB just never saw.

DaBoll wasn't great, and I do agree we didn't play enough to Jalen's strengths, but his passing ability was not going to win that national title game no matter who was scheming things up.

Jalen never had the ability to read defenses. He was terrible under pressure and prone to mistakes when pressure happened. His mid-range passing was dreadful. What he did have was a strong arm and the ability to burn defenses with his legs. He could/can heave the ball downfield with decent accuracy. Kiffin maximized that by specializing in bombs and creating shorter dump-offs with the option to take designed runs.

Bama's OL was weaker than usual and that hurt a great deal but DaBoll sucked. UGA never should've been in that game. Bama had as good of a secondary as Auburn. The only difference was DaBoll trying to make a square peg fit a round hole and a weaker than usual (but still very good) Bama OL.
