But With the help of miracles. That's a key distinction

Yet he beat the coach that UGA can't stop patting themselves on the back for taking to OT. And there was nothing lucky about that victory. Luck would have Alabama's kicker making a 60 yard FG with less than a second on the clock. It's funny how much credit you give Kirby, but Gus gets no credit for calling a timeout and getting his return man back on that absurd FG attempt.

You also conveniently leave out the fact that Auburn didn't lose by 23 points to anyone that season, and the SEC West had 4 teams finish in the top 20 and 6 of 7 teams had winning records and went to bowl games.

I get it, we needed hail marry completion to win a game, but every game that is decided by less than 3 comes down to a play or 2. What if Godwin doesn't make that ridiculous (and probably somewhat lucky) catch against ND on 3rd down? Does that mean UGA settles for a FG and loses by 3 points?

Calling what Gus did in 2013 as luck and what Kirby did in 2017 as unbelievable coaching just isn't fair and is a biased opinion.

It's fair to say that gus needed a fluke (Bama) and a miracle (uga) because that's what happened. Au 2017 didn't need such things to beat better uga and Bama teams.
