This is a very ignorant statement. It's not his platform it's the NFL/owners'. Hence the fact he isn't signed right now might be due to the fact that they don't want him 'with a microphone in his face, on TV and at the podium'. He might of been at the platform for a second, but does that mean he owns the platform? not at all..

Ok then, we can go that route. He went against 32 owners to speak up for an entire race of people he thought were being treated unfairly. I'm sure he knew it would have ramifications on his career. That would be extremely unselfish in my book.

As long as that camera is pointed at him or that microphone is on his face, that's his stage. What he does obviously has consequences. So, in those moments, that is absolutely his platform.
