The reason why I don't recognize the NCAA's power to vacate and forfeit wins is because they lack any kind of consistency. Take a look at Penn State. They vacated what must have been 100 of Joe Paterno's wins in the aftermath of the Sandusky scandal. Within a year or two they gave those wins back to Penn State. So they went from those wins happening, to them never happening, before finally having them happen again.

As far as I'm concerned, Alabama has 921 victories. We won them on the field, fair and square, and it's not like we were caught doing anything to get a competitive advantage. Langham signed with an agent and then reneged without telling anyone. Just over a decade later, some players decided to give their friends used textbooks they had bought off scholarship. Apparently no one realized this was a NCAA violation until Saban got there.
