As I remember, he could have broken one of our linemen's jaw without even making contact in those days. We were soft as unsalted butter.

My favorite Jenkins story was when James Johnson wanted to sign with us out of JUCO in '97, and Bowden told Jenkins "he doesn't fit our offense". Jenkins said, "Why the hell not? Is he too big? Too fast? Too strong?"

(Johnson went on to sign with MSU and kick our asses up and down the field for the next two years)
