I think the thing that irks me the most is how Auburn fans that support Gus talk like 8-5 is an acceptable record

Mediocrity and underachievement should never be viewed as acceptable here

The other thing is Gus himself and how he literally lies. Every gotdamn interview is lie after lie. I mean I get the injury thing and not wanting to tip your hand to the other team. However like today when Crepea laid into him about play calling and Gus just gives some rambling answer about how Chip called all the plays and the offense will always have Gus imprint on it. I mean that is as close to Bill Clinton saying what does is mean, that I have heard ever. Same thing with him saying he was going to get more running backs involved. Hell we ran Pettway out half crippled and killed 2 drives. Then we run Barrett in to catch a swing pass that everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball. I would love to see a psychiatric evaluation of ole Gus. I bet people would be shocked.

I am always slow to call for a coach to be fired. All the discussion about Chip Kelly and Bob Stoops makes me laugh. We will end up with a coach most aren't excited about or coordinator that nobody knows if they can handle the job.

8-5 in the SEC if your are competitive ala 2014 isn't that much different than 12-2 and SEC Champs. In 2010 if the ball doesn't bounce our way a few times that team is 11-3. All 8-5 teams aren't created equal, 8-5 like 2011 is closer to 3-9 2012 than 12-2 2013.

I fully expect Gus to lose his job unless he finds some new direction which there is zero evidence to suggest he will. I doubt the coaching hire will be something our whole fanbase will be excited about...I doubt it will be a huge up grade over Gus.

IMO the focus should be on JJ not have anything to do with Auburn Athletics in the future. I would gladly allow Gus another year if it meant assuring JJ was gone and the new AD search could be handled well and a professional hire was made.
