Why not fire Nuss now and take over play calling ? I think everyone who wants Mac to stay want Nuss fired. So do it now and give Mac a chance to improve the offense. If that happen and the offense improved we would win every games left but maybe 1 or 2 . It would help with recruiting because the offense would show that it is actually getting better and Mac wouldn't look like he just waiting to get fired after next season. So players want to go play for a coach that odds are will be fired the next year? We are missing coaching more then players . It's just going to be hard to get recruits and a better OC next year if the offense doesn't improve this year .
