He turned Texas Tech into a winner and has turned Washington St into a competitive program. How is he a fraud?

People act like Texas Tech was some three win program before he got there. He improved them. A little bit.

This. The idea that he somehow turned his teams into true powers or even regular conference contenders is a false narrative. He is getting tons of credit for this season and one good yr at tech.

I simply don't get the infatuation with him, other than his humorous antics.

He's a .500 coach at wazzu in an era when the pac has been more down than up in terms of conference depth.

He's .600 overall as a headcoach at tech and wazzu.

He had one really good season at TT. Outside of that anomaly, he had no other double digit win seasons. Including that year, he only had two seasons with 3 or fewer losses. He took a perennial 6-7 win TT and made them a 8-9 win team in the big 12. That is not exactly coaching genius at play.

Good post, and excuse me for asking, but doesn't he look like the perfect guy for the Vols next coach?
